History Made Again at Quad Cities Marathon! Hirut Guangul

Hirut Guangul has showed an extraordinary strength and courage at the 19th annual Cities Marathon. She did not only win gold but also followed the footsteps of Feyisa Lelisa by showing the gesture of protest at the finishing line. “After the race, the 24-year-old said the “X” is a way of protesting the human rights abuses that are taking place in Ethiopia. Guanhul’s simple action is a brave and powerful one that bypasses any language barrier,” as Dispatch-Argus reported.
We should salute the heroine as she is the first female athlete to openly join our struggle for freedom at a global stage.
